This tool uses an average weight of about 30 g per device to convert the number of returned vapes into kilograms. Real device weights vary by type, so treat the kg figure as an estimate. Your actual cost is based on the weight collected.

Why can a pay-as-you-go takeback scheme cost more per kg?

Many schemes charge a fee per collection that includes a weight allowance, illustratively about £160 for up to 8 kg, then around £12/kg above that, plus a one-off container fee. Because that collection fee is due whether the container is full or not, partial or frequent collections cost a lot per kg.
